Add-ons & Utilities packages on MassiveGRID PaaS
An add-on on MassiveGRID PaaS, built on Virtuozzo Application Platform (formerly Jelastic), is a package that runs against an existing environment rather than creating one. Nothing is rebuilt; the add-on configures the running nodes, follows them when they scale, and can be removed from the same dashboard. The add-ons in this category cover the operational jobs every environment eventually needs: Let's Encrypt SSL for a custom domain; Database Backup/Restore and WordPress Backup/Restore for scheduled archives to a Backup Storage node; MySQL, PostgreSQL and Redis TLS for encrypted client connections; Environment Start/Stop Scheduler for hibernating development environments outside working hours; Git-Push-Deploy for Heroku-style deployments; File Synchronization for keeping several nodes' files in step; Database Cluster Recovery and Corruption Diagnostic for the bad days; New Relic APM and NGINX Amplify for monitoring; NGINX Safe Reload, the Node.js installer and Timezone Change as utilities.
The add-ons themselves are free. You pay only for the environment they attach to, billed hourly by the cloudlet (128 MiB RAM plus 400 MHz CPU) at $0.003372 per cloudlet-hour; the Backup Storage package is a small node whose disk is billed per gigabyte. The add-on checklist lists the ones a platform team installs on every environment.
The 17 Add-ons & Utilities packages
Each card leads to the package page with its topology, sizing table, FAQs and install buttons. Monthly figures are the Starter configuration at $0.003372 per cloudlet-hour, before volume discounts.
Choosing between the Add-ons & Utilities packages
Install three on day one. Let's Encrypt SSL as soon as a custom domain is attached, the matching backup add-on with a Backup Storage node as its target, and the Start/Stop Scheduler on anything that is not production. Those three cover the most common incidents and the most common waste.
Add the TLS add-ons when a database is reached from another environment or from outside. Connections over the internal network are isolated, but a compliance review usually asks for encryption in transit regardless, and the add-ons issue the certificates and configure the server and client bundles in one step.
Treat the recovery add-ons as insurance. Database Cluster Recovery and Corruption Diagnostic cost nothing to attach and turn a 3 a.m. Galera bootstrap or a suspect table into a dashboard action. The recovery post is the runbook.
Every package page carries a sizing table with three configurations. To price a configuration of your own, or to see what a package costs on a working-hours schedule, use the PaaS pricing calculator.
