NGINX Amplify Add-on for PaaS

The NGINX Amplify add-on installs the Amplify agent on the NGINX nodes of a MassiveGRID PaaS environment and connects them to your free NGINX Amplify account. You get live dashboards of requests, connections, response codes and upstream health, static analysis of your NGINX configuration and alerting, without running your own monitoring stack.

Both buttons open the MassiveGRID PaaS dashboard with NGINX Amplify pre-selected. The trial needs no credit card.

What is NGINX Amplify?

NGINX Amplify is F5's hosted monitoring service for NGINX. A lightweight agent collects metrics from the NGINX status endpoint, access logs and the operating system, and streams them to the Amplify dashboard, where you see request rates, latency, error codes, upstream response times and per-server-block breakdowns. It also inspects your configuration for security and performance problems.

The add-on installs and registers the agent on every NGINX node in the selected layer, whether an NGINX load balancer or an NGINX PHP application server, enables the stub status endpoint and formats logs so Amplify can parse them. Nodes added by scaling are registered automatically.

What NGINX Amplify Changes in Your Environment

Add-ons run against an environment you already have. Nothing is rebuilt, and the change can be removed from the same dashboard.

  • Amplify agent: Installed on every NGINX node in the layer and registered with your Amplify API key.
  • NGINX status and log configuration: stub_status enabled and log format extended so Amplify can compute latency and error metrics.
  • Dashboard link: Nodes appear in your Amplify account within minutes with preconfigured graphs.
  • Scaling support: New nodes are registered automatically.

Why Teams Choose NGINX Amplify

Free NGINX-specific monitoring

Requests, connections, status codes, upstream latency and cache hit ratios out of the box.

Configuration analysis

Static checks flag insecure or suboptimal NGINX directives.

Alerts

Email notifications when error rates or latency cross thresholds.

No infrastructure to run

Hosted by F5; nothing to install besides the agent.

How to Add NGINX Amplify on MassiveGRID PaaS

Attaching the add-on takes three steps and a few minutes of waiting. No servers to provision, no configuration files to edit.

01

Open the installer

Click Install with free trial or Install to my account. The MassiveGRID PaaS dashboard opens with the NGINX Amplify add-on pre-selected, so nothing has to be copied or pasted.

02

Sign up or sign in

New to the platform? Sign up for the free 14-day trial, which needs no credit card. Existing customers sign in with their usual dashboard credentials.

03

Pick the target environment

Choose the environment, and where relevant the node layer, that NGINX Amplify should attach to, then confirm. The add-on configures itself on the running nodes without a redeploy.

Who Runs NGINX Amplify on PaaS

Load-balanced web clusters

Visibility into the NGINX balancer in front of WordPress, Magento or Java clusters.

Performance tuning

Finding slow upstreams and cache misses.

Small teams without observability tooling

Monitoring that takes minutes to set up.

Why Run NGINX Amplify on MassiveGRID PaaS

Built for uptime. NGINX Amplify runs on MassiveGRID's high-availability platform, where every environment is covered by a 100% uptime SLA. Nodes live on redundant hosts, storage is replicated, and failed containers are restarted or migrated automatically.

Pay for what you use. Billing is hourly and per cloudlet (128 MiB RAM plus 400 MHz CPU). Vertical auto-scaling adds and removes cloudlets as load changes, so a quiet NGINX Amplify environment costs a few dollars a month and a busy one grows without a migration. Full details are on the PaaS page.

Your choice of jurisdiction. Deploy in New York, London, Frankfurt or Singapore and keep data inside the region your users or regulators require. MassiveGRID is ISO 9001 certified and GDPR compliant, and has run hosting infrastructure since 2003.

No lock-in. The package is a standard Jelastic Packaging Standard (JPS) manifest. You keep root-level access to the containers, can export the manifest, and can move the workload to any other Jelastic-compatible platform or to your own servers at any time.

NGINX Amplify Questions

Yes. Create a free account at F5's Amplify site, copy the API key and enter it when installing the add-on.
Metrics and configuration metadata are sent to F5's service; request bodies and content are not. Review F5's privacy terms if you handle regulated data, or use the New Relic APM add-on or self-hosted monitoring instead.
No. Amplify monitors NGINX only. It works on the NGINX load balancer and NGINX PHP application server layers.
The NGINX Amplify add-on itself is free. You pay only for the environment it is attached to, which is billed per use in cloudlets (128 MiB RAM plus 400 MHz CPU each). A small environment starts at $2.46 per month, or $0.003372 per hour, and the PaaS pricing page explains the model in full.
MassiveGRID PaaS runs in four regions: New York, London, Frankfurt and Singapore. You pick the region in the installer, and every environment is covered by the 100% uptime SLA. Read more about our data centres and network.
Yes. New accounts get a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. Click Install with free trial above, sign up, and the installer opens with NGINX Amplify already selected. Trial environments can be scaled, tested and deleted freely, and they convert to pay-per-use billing only when you add a payment method.
