A plain rule: if a delay of a few milliseconds on one tick would change your result, or if you run more than a handful of terminals, or if you backtest on the same server that trades, take the Pro tier. Is this a bare-metal server?
No, and the distinction matters. Forex VPS Pro is a virtual server with CPU cores reserved for it, which gives you the isolation that matters for trading, dedicated compute, without the cost and the single point of failure of one physical machine. Because it is a VM on an HA cluster, it restarts on another node when hardware fails, which a bare-metal server cannot do. Who orders the Pro tier
- Scalpers and news traders. Strategies that enter and exit inside a minute, or that fire on a data release, pay for every millisecond of jitter. Reserved cores remove the one source of jitter you cannot see from inside the terminal.
- Multi-account desks. Ten terminals with copiers and indicator-heavy templates keep several cores busy all session. On shared cores they compete with each other and with neighbours; on dedicated cores they only compete with each other, and you can add cores until they do not.
- Traders who test where they trade. An MT5 optimisation uses every core it can find. On a Pro plan you can leave a few agents disabled for the live terminals and give the rest to the tester, with no one else on the host to care about.
- Prop firm accounts and funded traders. A missed stop on a funded account can end the account. Traders who run challenge and funded accounts tend to pay for the reserved CPU rather than explain a slipped exit.
