Small team, real infrastructure. We are not a reseller putting a logo on someone else's platform. We design, build, maintain and support our own clustered cloud infrastructure, which means the person who racks the hardware, the person who tunes the Ceph cluster and the person who answers the ticket all know each other by name. 1st Level Support Engineer

Support · 24/7 rota

The first person a client reaches when something matters. You triage, diagnose and resolve what you can, escalate cleanly what you cannot, and keep the customer informed throughout. This is the best seat in the house for learning our whole stack quickly.

What we look for

Solid Linux fundamentals: the shell, permissions, services, logs, package management
Networking basics: IP addressing, DNS, routing, firewalls, and how to read a traceroute
Working knowledge of Windows Server alongside Linux
Clear written English and the patience to explain a fix, not just apply it

Systems Administrator

Operations · Linux & Windows

You own the servers. Provisioning, patching, hardening, backups, monitoring and the unglamorous work that keeps a 100% uptime SLA honest. You also deploy and support the products we sell, so customer-facing problems land on your desk with real context.

What we look for

Day-to-day Proxmox: VMs, containers, clusters, snapshots, migrations
cPanel administration and the web stack underneath it
Backup and restore you have actually tested, plus monitoring and alerting
Deploying open source applications such as Nextcloud and XWiki for real users
Scripting to remove your own repetitive work

Infrastructure Engineer

Platform · Storage & Network

You design and run the layer everything else sits on: clustered compute, distributed storage, high-availability appliances and the network that ties them together across our datacenters. Capacity planning, failure domains and failover drills are the job, not a side project.

What we look for

Ceph in production: CRUSH maps, pools, placement groups, recovery behaviour
High-availability NAS appliances and shared storage design
Switches and routers: VLANs, LACP, BGP, redundancy that survives a failure
Proxmox clustering and the storage and network layers it depends on
A habit of documenting the design, not only the fix

Open source is the default

Material community support is one of our six core values: 100% open source technologies support, startup mentoring, charity activities, donations and volunteering. If you contribute to a project, we would rather that continue than stop on your first day.

You own what you build

Our team is small enough that there is no queue between having an idea and testing it. You will be trusted with production access early, which also means being trusted to be careful with it.

Customers are the priority

We run 24/7 support with custom SLAs, and everybody technical is close to the customer. Engineers read tickets here. It keeps the infrastructure honest, because you hear directly when it is not.

Simplicity over cleverness

Our founding principle borrows from Leonardo da Vinci: simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. We would rather run a boring architecture that fails gracefully than a clever one nobody can debug at 03:00.

What roles does MassiveGRID hire for?

Three areas: 1st level support engineers with working knowledge of Linux, networking and Windows; systems administrators who run Proxmox, cPanel and customer workloads day to day; and infrastructure engineers who design and operate Ceph storage, high-availability NAS appliances, switches and routers.

Do I need certifications to apply?

No. Certifications are welcome but never a requirement. We care far more about what you have actually built, broken and fixed. A home lab, a self-hosted server or a record of open source contributions tells us more than a certificate does.

What technologies will I work with?

Proxmox for virtualisation and clustering, Ceph for distributed storage, cPanel for hosting management, high-availability NAS appliances, enterprise switches and routers, Linux and Windows Server, plus the open source products we sell and support such as Nextcloud and XWiki.
