New Relic APM Add-on for PaaS
The New Relic APM add-on installs and configures the New Relic application performance monitoring agent on the Java or PHP application servers of a MassiveGRID PaaS environment. Within minutes you see transaction traces, slow database queries, error rates and throughput in your New Relic account, with no manual agent setup.
Both buttons open the MassiveGRID PaaS dashboard with New Relic APM pre-selected. The trial needs no credit card.

What is New Relic APM?
New Relic APM shows what your application is doing in production: which transactions are slow, which SQL queries dominate response time, where exceptions occur, and how external services affect latency. It is the standard tool for troubleshooting performance in Java and PHP applications, and its free tier covers a generous amount of data for small teams.
Installing the agent means downloading the right version, placing it in the runtime, editing configuration with your licence key and application name, and restarting, on every node. The add-on does all of this for the selected layer and keeps new nodes consistent as the layer scales, so the whole cluster reports under one application name.
What New Relic APM Changes in Your Environment
Add-ons run against an environment you already have. Nothing is rebuilt, and the change can be removed from the same dashboard.
- New Relic agent: The Java or PHP agent matching the node's runtime, installed on every node in the layer.
- Configuration: Licence key and application name set, with the runtime configured to load the agent.
- Graceful restart: Application servers restarted one at a time so the agent activates without downtime.
- Scaling support: New nodes receive the agent and configuration automatically.
Why Teams Choose New Relic APM

Why Run New Relic APM on MassiveGRID PaaS
Built for uptime. New Relic APM runs on MassiveGRID's high-availability platform, where every environment is covered by a 100% uptime SLA. Nodes live on redundant hosts, storage is replicated, and failed containers are restarted or migrated automatically.
Pay for what you use. Billing is hourly and per cloudlet (128 MiB RAM plus 400 MHz CPU). Vertical auto-scaling adds and removes cloudlets as load changes, so a quiet New Relic APM environment costs a few dollars a month and a busy one grows without a migration. Full details are on the PaaS page.
Your choice of jurisdiction. Deploy in New York, London, Frankfurt or Singapore and keep data inside the region your users or regulators require. MassiveGRID is ISO 9001 certified and GDPR compliant, and has run hosting infrastructure since 2003.
No lock-in. The package is a standard Jelastic Packaging Standard (JPS) manifest. You keep root-level access to the containers, can export the manifest, and can move the workload to any other Jelastic-compatible platform or to your own servers at any time.
