Multi-Region WordPress Standalone on MassiveGRID PaaS

Multi-Region WordPress Standalone installs a LiteSpeed-powered WordPress instance in each MassiveGRID region you choose and keeps the copies synchronised. You get geographic presence and regional failover at the cost of a few single nodes, without running a full cluster in every location.

Both buttons open the MassiveGRID PaaS dashboard with Multi-Region WordPress Standalone pre-selected. The trial needs no credit card.

What is Multi-Region WordPress Standalone?

Not every site that wants to be close to its visitors needs a multi-node cluster in each region. This package takes the opposite approach: one lean LiteSpeed WordPress node per region, with the database and files replicated between them. Each node can serve the whole site, so a regional problem simply means traffic is routed to another region.

LiteSpeed is chosen for its LSCache plugin and low memory footprint, which lets a single small node handle surprising traffic. Because every node is a standard WordPress install, plugins, themes and WP-CLI work exactly as they would on the WordPress Standalone Kit.

What the Multi-Region WordPress Standalone Package Deploys

Marketplace packages are not bare container images. One click provisions a complete, production-shaped environment on MassiveGRID infrastructure.

  • One LiteSpeed WordPress node per region: A LiteSpeed web server with PHP and WordPress in each of the regions you select, each with its own built-in domain and SSL.
  • MariaDB replication between regions: Database changes made in one region propagate to the others so content stays consistent.
  • File synchronisation: Media uploads and code changes are mirrored across regions.
  • Regional endpoints: Each region is separately addressable for use with geo-DNS or a CDN that selects the nearest origin.

Why Teams Choose Multi-Region WordPress Standalone

Lowest-cost geographic footprint

Single nodes per region cost a fraction of a full cluster, and vertical auto-scaling still applies to each node.

LiteSpeed performance

LSCache page caching and an event-driven server let one node serve far more concurrent visitors than a comparable Apache setup.

Regional failover

With DNS or a CDN in front, an unreachable region is skipped and the site continues from the others.

Simple administration

Standard WordPress on every node, managed from one PaaS dashboard, with the same add-ons available as for any other environment.

Why Run Multi-Region WordPress Standalone on MassiveGRID PaaS

Built for uptime. Multi-Region WordPress Standalone runs on MassiveGRID's high-availability platform, where every environment is covered by a 100% uptime SLA. Nodes live on redundant hosts, storage is replicated, and failed containers are restarted or migrated automatically.

Pay for what you use. Billing is hourly and per cloudlet (128 MiB RAM plus 400 MHz CPU). Vertical auto-scaling adds and removes cloudlets as load changes, so a quiet Multi-Region WordPress Standalone environment costs a few dollars a month and a busy one grows without a migration. Full details are on the PaaS page.

Your choice of jurisdiction. Deploy in New York, London, Frankfurt or Singapore and keep data inside the region your users or regulators require. MassiveGRID is ISO 9001 certified and GDPR compliant, and has run hosting infrastructure since 2003.

No lock-in. The package is a standard Jelastic Packaging Standard (JPS) manifest. You keep root-level access to the containers, can export the manifest, and can move the workload to any other Jelastic-compatible platform or to your own servers at any time.

Multi-Region WordPress Standalone Questions

The cluster package deploys a load balancer, several application servers and a database cluster in every region. This package deploys a single LiteSpeed node per region. It is cheaper and simpler but has no redundancy inside a region; failover happens between regions rather than between nodes.
Publish in one region and let replication carry the changes to the others. Writing simultaneously in several regions is possible but increases the chance of replication conflicts, so most teams designate a primary editorial region.
Yes. Environments on MassiveGRID PaaS can be cloned to another region, and the replication can be extended to the new node. Contact support if you would like the change planned for you.
There is no licence fee for the package. You pay only for the resources the Multi-Region WordPress Standalone environment consumes, billed hourly in cloudlets of 128 MiB RAM plus 400 MHz CPU. A single-node environment starts at $2.46 per month, or $0.003372 per hour, and clustered topologies cost more because they run more nodes. See the PaaS pricing page for details.
MassiveGRID PaaS runs in four regions: New York, London, Frankfurt and Singapore. You pick the region in the installer, and every environment is covered by the 100% uptime SLA. Read more about our data centres and network.
Yes. New accounts get a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. Click Install with free trial above, sign up, and the installer opens with Multi-Region WordPress Standalone already selected. Trial environments can be scaled, tested and deleted freely, and they convert to pay-per-use billing only when you add a payment method.
