What is Plesk?

Plesk turns a Linux server into a multi-tenant hosting platform: create subscriptions for customers, give them a panel to manage their sites, mailboxes and databases, and automate updates, backups and security with extensions such as WordPress Toolkit, Let's Encrypt, Imunify and Git. It is used by hosting resellers, agencies and businesses running many sites on one server.

The package deploys Plesk on a dedicated node with a public IP and completes the initial installation, so you reach the Plesk login within minutes. Vertical auto-scaling lets the server grow as you add customers, and platform snapshots protect the whole server before upgrades. A Plesk licence key is required; Plesk offers a trial.

What the Plesk Package Deploys

Marketplace packages are not bare container images. One click provisions a complete, production-shaped environment on MassiveGRID infrastructure.

  • Plesk Obsidian node: A dedicated Linux container with the current Plesk Obsidian release installed and the web server, PHP, mail and DNS components enabled.
  • Public IP: A dedicated public address for hosting websites, mail and DNS.
  • Plesk admin panel: HTTPS access to the administrator interface for creating subscriptions and installing extensions.
  • Initial credentials: Root and Plesk admin access details delivered after installation.

Why Run Plesk on MassiveGRID PaaS

Built for uptime. Plesk runs on MassiveGRID's high-availability platform, where every environment is covered by a 100% uptime SLA. Nodes live on redundant hosts, storage is replicated, and failed containers are restarted or migrated automatically.

Pay for what you use. Billing is hourly and per cloudlet (128 MiB RAM plus 400 MHz CPU). Vertical auto-scaling adds and removes cloudlets as load changes, so a quiet Plesk environment costs a few dollars a month and a busy one grows without a migration. Full details are on the PaaS page.

Your choice of jurisdiction. Deploy in New York, London, Frankfurt or Singapore and keep data inside the region your users or regulators require. MassiveGRID is ISO 9001 certified and GDPR compliant, and has run hosting infrastructure since 2003.

No lock-in. The package is a standard Jelastic Packaging Standard (JPS) manifest. You keep root-level access to the containers, can export the manifest, and can move the workload to any other Jelastic-compatible platform or to your own servers at any time.

Plesk Questions

Yes. Plesk is commercial software. The package installs it and Plesk offers a free trial licence; afterwards you purchase a Web Admin, Web Pro or Web Host licence from Plesk or a partner and enter the key. MassiveGRID's hosting charge is separate and billed per use.
Both are mature panels. Plesk runs on Linux and Windows and has strong WordPress and developer tooling; cPanel is Linux-only and dominant among US hosts. MassiveGRID also offers high-availability cPanel hosting as a managed service.
Yes. The node has a public IP and Plesk includes a mail server. Configure reverse DNS and SPF/DKIM records for deliverability; MassiveGRID support can assist with reverse DNS.
There is no licence fee for the package. You pay only for the resources the Plesk environment consumes, billed hourly in cloudlets of 128 MiB RAM plus 400 MHz CPU. A single-node environment starts at $2.46 per month, or $0.003372 per hour, and clustered topologies cost more because they run more nodes. See the PaaS pricing page for details.
MassiveGRID PaaS runs in four regions: New York, London, Frankfurt and Singapore. You pick the region in the installer, and every environment is covered by the 100% uptime SLA. Read more about our data centres and network.
Yes. New accounts get a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. Click Install with free trial above, sign up, and the installer opens with Plesk already selected. Trial environments can be scaled, tested and deleted freely, and they convert to pay-per-use billing only when you add a payment method.
