MariaDB Multi-Source Replication on MassiveGRID PaaS

The MariaDB Multi-Source Replication package deploys several MariaDB primaries that all replicate into a single replica node. The replica holds a consolidated copy of every primary's databases, which makes it ideal for centralised reporting, backups and analytics without touching the production servers.

Both buttons open the MassiveGRID PaaS dashboard with MariaDB Multi-Source Replication pre-selected. The trial needs no credit card.

What is MariaDB Multi-Source Replication?

Multi-source replication is a MariaDB feature that lets one server act as a replica of many independent primaries at once, each through its own named replication connection. It is the standard way to gather data from several application databases into one place: run reports across all of them, back them up from one node, or feed an analytics pipeline without adding load to any production database.

The package deploys the primaries and the consolidated replica, creates the replication users and channels, and verifies that each source is streaming. Because each channel is independent, a problem on one primary does not stop replication from the others.

What the MariaDB Multi-Source Replication Package Deploys

Marketplace packages are not bare container images. One click provisions a complete, production-shaped environment on MassiveGRID infrastructure.

  • Multiple MariaDB primaries: Independent MariaDB containers, each serving its own application or database set.
  • Consolidated replica: A single MariaDB node with one named replication channel per primary, receiving every source's changes.
  • Replication configuration: Users, GTIDs and channel names configured by the installer and verified after deployment.
  • Administrative access: Credentials for every node delivered to your dashboard and email.

Why Teams Choose MariaDB Multi-Source Replication

One place for all data

Report, query and export across many application databases from a single node.

Production stays untouched

Heavy analytics queries run on the replica, never on the primaries serving users.

Centralised backups

Back up every database from the replica with the Database Backup/Restore add-on on one schedule.

Independent channels

Each source replicates on its own connection, so sources can be added, paused or removed individually.

How to Install MariaDB Multi-Source Replication on MassiveGRID PaaS

Installing the package takes three steps and a few minutes of waiting. No servers to provision, no configuration files to edit.

01

Open the installer

Click Install with free trial or Install to my account. The MassiveGRID PaaS dashboard opens with the MariaDB Multi-Source Replication package pre-selected, so nothing has to be copied or pasted.

02

Sign up or sign in

New to the platform? Sign up for the free 14-day trial, which needs no credit card. Existing customers sign in with their usual dashboard credentials.

03

Choose region and deploy

Name the environment, pick New York, London, Frankfurt or Singapore, and confirm. The platform builds every MariaDB Multi-Source Replication node, wires them together and hands you the live URL and credentials.

Who Runs MariaDB Multi-Source Replication on PaaS

Multi-tenant SaaS reporting

Consolidating per-customer databases into one node for cross-tenant analytics.

Agencies with many client sites

Backing up dozens of WordPress or shop databases from a single replica.

Data warehousing feeds

A staging node that ETL tools read from without affecting production.

Why Run MariaDB Multi-Source Replication on MassiveGRID PaaS

Built for uptime. MariaDB Multi-Source Replication runs on MassiveGRID's high-availability platform, where every environment is covered by a 100% uptime SLA. Nodes live on redundant hosts, storage is replicated, and failed containers are restarted or migrated automatically.

Pay for what you use. Billing is hourly and per cloudlet (128 MiB RAM plus 400 MHz CPU). Vertical auto-scaling adds and removes cloudlets as load changes, so a quiet MariaDB Multi-Source Replication environment costs a few dollars a month and a busy one grows without a migration. Full details are on the PaaS page.

Your choice of jurisdiction. Deploy in New York, London, Frankfurt or Singapore and keep data inside the region your users or regulators require. MassiveGRID is ISO 9001 certified and GDPR compliant, and has run hosting infrastructure since 2003.

No lock-in. The package is a standard Jelastic Packaging Standard (JPS) manifest. You keep root-level access to the containers, can export the manifest, and can move the workload to any other Jelastic-compatible platform or to your own servers at any time.

MariaDB Multi-Source Replication Questions

It can, but it is designed as a read-only consolidation point. Writing to the replica risks conflicts with incoming replication, so keep application writes on the primaries.
Multi-source replication merges everything into one server, so identical database names collide. Use replication filters or rename databases on the primaries so each source uses distinct schema names.
Master-master links two nodes bidirectionally for redundancy. Multi-source is one-way from many primaries into one replica, for consolidation.
There is no licence fee for the package. You pay only for the resources the MariaDB Multi-Source Replication environment consumes, billed hourly in cloudlets of 128 MiB RAM plus 400 MHz CPU. A single-node environment starts at $2.46 per month, or $0.003372 per hour, and clustered topologies cost more because they run more nodes. See the PaaS pricing page for details.
MassiveGRID PaaS runs in four regions: New York, London, Frankfurt and Singapore. You pick the region in the installer, and every environment is covered by the 100% uptime SLA. Read more about our data centres and network.
Yes. New accounts get a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. Click Install with free trial above, sign up, and the installer opens with MariaDB Multi-Source Replication already selected. Trial environments can be scaled, tested and deleted freely, and they convert to pay-per-use billing only when you add a payment method.
