MariaDB Multi-Region Galera Cluster on MassiveGRID PaaS
The MariaDB Multi-Region Galera Cluster deploys a synchronous, multi-primary MariaDB Galera cluster with nodes spread across two or more MassiveGRID regions. Every region can accept writes, data is committed to all regions before a transaction returns, and the cluster keeps running if a region disappears.
Both buttons open the MassiveGRID PaaS dashboard with MariaDB Multi-Region Galera Cluster pre-selected. The trial needs no credit card.

What is MariaDB Multi-Region Galera Cluster?
Galera Cluster is MariaDB's synchronous multi-primary replication technology: every node holds the same data at all times and any node can accept writes, with certification-based conflict detection. Running Galera across regions gives the strongest consistency guarantee available for MySQL-compatible databases, at the cost of adding the inter-region round trip to each commit.
This package handles the parts that make cross-region Galera hard: node addressing across environments, secure inter-node traffic, quorum and segment configuration so that each region's nodes talk efficiently, and ProxySQL endpoints in every region. It is the right choice when you cannot tolerate replication lag or lost writes during a regional failover, and when your regions are close enough that the added commit latency is acceptable.
What the MariaDB Multi-Region Galera Cluster Package Deploys
Marketplace packages are not bare container images. One click provisions a complete, production-shaped environment on MassiveGRID infrastructure.
- Galera nodes per region: MariaDB Galera containers in each selected region, configured as a single cluster with region-aware segments.
- Synchronous replication: Transactions are certified and applied on every node before commit returns, so all regions hold identical data.
- ProxySQL per region: Local entry points that direct application traffic to healthy nodes in the same region first.
- Automatic recovery: Nodes that fall out of the cluster rejoin with incremental or full state transfer without operator action.
Why Teams Choose MariaDB Multi-Region Galera Cluster
Write anywhere
Applications in any region can write locally; Galera resolves conflicts and keeps every copy identical.
Zero data loss on region failure
Because replication is synchronous, no committed transaction exists in only one region.
Region-aware routing
Galera segments and per-region ProxySQL keep intra-region traffic local and inter-region traffic to the minimum.
Operational safety nets
The Database Cluster Recovery add-on diagnoses and repairs Galera clusters if quorum is ever lost.

Who Runs MariaDB Multi-Region Galera Cluster on PaaS
Financial and transactional systems
Applications where a lost write during failover is unacceptable and strict consistency is required.
Active-active EU deployments
London and Frankfurt regions serving one application with local writes in both places.
Regulated multi-site operations
Organisations that must keep identical records in two jurisdictions at all times.
Why Run MariaDB Multi-Region Galera Cluster on MassiveGRID PaaS
Built for uptime. MariaDB Multi-Region Galera Cluster runs on MassiveGRID's high-availability platform, where every environment is covered by a 100% uptime SLA. Nodes live on redundant hosts, storage is replicated, and failed containers are restarted or migrated automatically.
Pay for what you use. Billing is hourly and per cloudlet (128 MiB RAM plus 400 MHz CPU). Vertical auto-scaling adds and removes cloudlets as load changes, so a quiet MariaDB Multi-Region Galera Cluster environment costs a few dollars a month and a busy one grows without a migration. Full details are on the PaaS page.
Your choice of jurisdiction. Deploy in New York, London, Frankfurt or Singapore and keep data inside the region your users or regulators require. MassiveGRID is ISO 9001 certified and GDPR compliant, and has run hosting infrastructure since 2003.
No lock-in. The package is a standard Jelastic Packaging Standard (JPS) manifest. You keep root-level access to the containers, can export the manifest, and can move the workload to any other Jelastic-compatible platform or to your own servers at any time.
