Odoo Hosting on MassiveGRID PaaS
Odoo Community installed in one click with its PostgreSQL database and persistent filestore, sized by Odoo's own worker arithmetic and scaled by the cloudlet for month-end, in the region you choose. No per-user fee: a company of 150 pays for one environment.
Odoo on MassiveGRID PaaS installs in one click in New York, London, Frankfurt or Singapore, costs about $59.04 a month for the Starter configuration, an Odoo application server (2 GiB) and a PostgreSQL database (1 GiB), and starts with a 14-day free trial. See the sizing table.
The install button opens the MassiveGRID PaaS dashboard with Odoo pre-selected. Sign up without a card, name the environment, pick a region, and the package installs in a few minutes.
Why host Odoo on MassiveGRID PaaS
Odoo Online is priced per user per month, which is fine at five users and a different conversation at eighty; Odoo Community on the Odoo package is billed for the cloudlets the environment uses, with no per-user component. MassiveGRID PaaS, built on Virtuozzo Application Platform (formerly Jelastic), scales the Odoo node vertically during closing, payroll and reporting runs and bills the quiet weeks at the quiet figure.
Odoo's deployment guide sizes a server by workers, (CPUs × 2) + 1 of them, about six concurrent users each and roughly 3 GB for 60 users; the package's sizing table follows that arithmetic, and the requirements guide applies it to three company sizes.
Custom modules, which Odoo Online's Standard plan does not allow, are the normal way to use Odoo Community here: develop them against a clone of production, which exists for an afternoon and costs cents, then deploy. The staging clone post is the workflow.
What the Odoo package deploys
An Odoo application server with the current Community release, a PostgreSQL node, a persistent filestore for attachments, and a platform subdomain with a certificate; a custom domain takes the Let's Encrypt add-on. Root access over SSH for modules, configuration and the Odoo shell, nightly PostgreSQL dumps with the Database Backup/Restore add-on, and the environment clone for staging and upgrade rehearsals.
Odoo Enterprise features need a subscription from Odoo, which can run on this environment as the Custom plan's on-premise option; the Odoo Online versus Odoo.sh versus self-hosted post sets the three routes side by side.
Who hosts Odoo this way
Companies with more users than apps. A 60-person company on three Odoo apps pays per user on Odoo Online and per environment here; the break-even is low double digits of users.
Companies that need custom modules or integrations, which Standard excludes and Custom prices up; the package has root access and a staging clone.
Companies with a residency requirement for accounting and HR data, which stays in New York, London, Frankfurt or Singapore with their own backups.
Companies under ten users with no customisation and no IT owner are better served by Odoo Online; the comparison table below says so plainly.
What Odoo costs to run here
Three starting configurations, sized in cloudlets (1 cloudlet = 128 MiB RAM + 400 MHz CPU) and priced at the published rate of $0.003372 per cloudlet-hour, or $2.46 per cloudlet-month. Odoo's deployment guide sizes workers at (CPUs × 2) + 1, about six concurrent users per worker and roughly 3 GB of RAM for 9 workers; the Standard row gives the application server 4 GiB for that load.
| Configuration | Topology | Cloudlets | Est. per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| StarterEvaluation and a handful of users | Odoo application server (16 cloudlets, 2 GiB), PostgreSQL database (8 cloudlets, 1 GiB) | 24 | $59.04 |
| StandardA company in daily use | Odoo application server (32 cloudlets, 4 GiB), PostgreSQL database (16 cloudlets, 2 GiB) | 48 | $118.08 |
| ProductionMonth-end load and many users | NGINX load balancer (4 cloudlets, 512 MiB), 2 × Odoo application server (32 cloudlets, 4 GiB each), PostgreSQL database (24 cloudlets, 3 GiB) | 92 | $226.32 |
Estimates assume the environment averages the listed cloudlets around the clock; billing is hourly, vertical auto-scaling lowers the figure when the application is idle, and volume discounts apply as usage grows. Disk and external traffic are billed per gigabyte on top. No licence fee applies to the package. Price a different topology or a working-hours schedule in the PaaS pricing calculator.
Odoo on MassiveGRID PaaS vs Odoo Online vs a VPS
Odoo Online figures were read from the vendor's page on 1 November 2026; re-check them before relying on them.
| Aspect | Odoo on MassiveGRID PaaS | Odoo Online | A plain VPS |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly cost | About $59.04 (Starter) to $226.32 (Production) at $0.003372 per cloudlet-hour, before discounts; Odoo Community has no licence fee | One App Free at $0; Standard $24.90 to $31.10 per user per month billed yearly ($38.90 monthly); Custom $49 to $61 ($76.20 monthly), as listed on the US pricing page | A 2 to 4 GB server's monthly price; plus your time |
| What you manage | The application inside the containers (updates, configuration); the platform runs the infrastructure, scaling and the 100% uptime SLA | Nothing; Odoo runs it. Standard allows no custom modules | Everything: OS, runtime, database, TLS, backups, upgrades |
| Limits and metering | Unlimited users; capacity is the environment's cloudlets | Priced per user; Standard excludes custom modules, Odoo.sh and on-premise | No metering; limited by the server's size |
| Scaling | Vertical by the cloudlet, automatic and without restart; horizontal on a trigger behind the platform's load balancer | Odoo's infrastructure; not under your control | Resize the server, usually with a reboot; no horizontal scaling without your own load balancer |
| Data location | New York, London, Frankfurt or Singapore, chosen at install; data stays there | Odoo's hosting regions | Wherever the VPS is; one server, one location |
| Backups | Database Backup/Restore and Backup Storage add-ons on a schedule, environment clone for rehearsals | Odoo's responsibility; database export available | Your own cron jobs and off-server copies |
| Availability | 100% uptime SLA, nodes on separate hosts, failed containers restarted or migrated | Odoo Online's availability commitment | Single server; the provider's hardware SLA only |
| Lock-in | Standard JPS manifest and root access; export the manifest or move the containers at any time | Database export is supported; custom code is only possible on Custom | None; you own the server |
Where Odoo Online is the better choice: Odoo Online is the right answer for a company that wants Odoo Enterprise apps with no IT involvement and no custom modules, especially under ten users where the per-user price is small.
