What the free migration moves
A cPanel account moves as a whole. Sites from other panels move with what you can give us access to.
- cPanel to cPanel: a full account transfer: website files, MySQL and MariaDB databases, email accounts with their messages and passwords, forwarders, cron jobs, DNS zones and subdomains. AutoSSL issues new certificates on the new server.
- WordPress and other sites from non-cPanel hosts: the files over FTP or SFTP, a database export, and mailboxes over IMAP. Open a ticket describing the source host and our team confirms what can be moved before you order a longer term.
- Several sites or a reseller account: each cPanel account is transferred in turn; on cPanel reseller hosting every client keeps a separate login.

What migration does not change: your domain stays at its registrar, and you change the DNS yourself when the new site has been checked. Nothing is cancelled at the old host until you decide.
Five steps, one of them yours
You order and change DNS; our team does the transfer in between.

- Change DNSPoint the domain's nameservers or A and MX records at MassiveGRID. Once propagation is complete, cancel the old account.
Have these ready before you open the ticket
The transfer goes faster when the ticket has everything in it.
- Access to the current host: the cPanel login, or a full cPanel backup downloaded from Backup Wizard; the full backup guide shows where it is.
- Your registrar login: you will change the nameservers or DNS records there at the end.
- A list of the domains and mailboxes: so nothing is left behind, including addon domains and forwarders.
- Third-party DNS notes: if your mail or DNS is hosted elsewhere (Cloudflare, Google, Microsoft), say so, and those records stay as they are.
- A lower TTL: set the domain's DNS TTL to 300 seconds a day before the cutover so the change propagates quickly.
How the move stays invisible to visitors
Both copies of the site run until the DNS has moved everyone to the new one.
Once the account is on the new server, it answers on the new IP address while the old host still answers on the old one. Visitors keep reaching the old site until you change the DNS; after the change, each visitor's resolver picks up the new address within the TTL you set. During that window, both copies serve the same content. For a shop or a site that takes form submissions, put the old site in maintenance mode for the hour of the cutover so no order lands on the copy you are about to retire.
