Dokploy has no price tag in the usual sense, which is exactly why its pricing confuses buyers. There is a free, open-source core you install on a server, an optional Dokploy Cloud subscription that hosts the dashboard for you, an Enterprise tier with licence keys for SSO and audit logs, and underneath all of it a server bill that is the only line most users ever pay. This guide walks through each, with the figures on dokploy.com and the MassiveGRID configurator on 31 October 2026, and ends with three complete monthly bills.

Line 1: the open-source core is free

Dokploy's self-hosted edition is free to install, run and update, with no limit on applications, databases, domains, users or servers. The GitHub repository (38,200 stars at the time of writing) describes it as an "Open Source Alternative to Vercel, Netlify and Heroku", and the installer is a single command on a fresh Ubuntu or Debian server with at least 2 GB of RAM and 30 GB of disk. There is no "community edition" with features removed: the project's own comparison table marks templates, Docker Compose, multi-server, backups, preview deployments, rollbacks, scheduled jobs, teams and the API as available, and the Cloud docs state that every feature in self-hosted is also in Cloud and the reverse.

What you give up by paying nothing is a support contract (the community lives on GitHub and Discord), the hosted monitoring dashboard, and someone else running the updates.

Line 2: Dokploy Cloud, $4.50 per server

Dokploy Cloud is the paid product. It hosts the control plane (dashboard, users, orchestration, monitoring, notifications) on Dokploy's infrastructure; you connect servers you rent elsewhere over SSH, and your applications and data stay on those servers. Plans on docs.dokploy.com at the time of writing:

Annual billing is 20 percent cheaper, deployments, databases and applications are unlimited per server, and dokploy.com offers a 7-day trial without a card. The fee never includes a server. Our Cloud vs self-hosted cost comparison works through what that means for one, three and ten servers.

Line 3: Enterprise licence keys

The Enterprise section of the docs covers licence keys that unlock SSO over OIDC or SAML, SCIM provisioning, whitelabelling, custom roles and audit logs on a self-hosted instance. Pricing is not published on the docs pages and is handled through sales, so treat it as a quote. Small teams rarely need it: two-factor authentication, passkeys, member permissions, teams and API tokens are all in the free core.

Line 4: the server, which is the real bill

Whichever edition you choose, Dokploy deploys to servers you pay for, and that is where the money goes. The size is decided by what you deploy, not by Dokploy: the dashboard, its PostgreSQL and Traefik take roughly 350 to 450 MB of RAM at idle, each Node.js app 80 to 200 MB, a production PostgreSQL 512 MB to 1 GB, and a Docker build a temporary 500 MB to 2 GB on top. Our server requirements guide goes through the arithmetic. The MassiveGRID Dokploy hosting page turns it into four presets:

PresetForServerSharedDedicated
Starter1 to 3 apps and a database2 vCPU, 4 GB, 64 GB NVMe$9.58$19.80
Growth4 to 8 apps, 2 to 3 databases4 vCPU, 8 GB, 128 GB NVMe$19.16$39.60
ProAgency, 10 to 20 apps8 vCPU, 16 GB, 256 GB NVMe$38.32$79.20
EnterpriseBuild server or Swarm worker16 vCPU, 32 GB, 512 GB NVMe, 2 TB traffic$77.64$159.40

Per month in New York, London or Frankfurt on monthly billing, 1 TB of traffic and one IPv4 included (Singapore storage and traffic cost more; the configurator shows the exact figure). Longer billing cycles take 5 to 40 percent off. Shared cores are fine while builds are occasional; dedicated cores keep Docker builds and response times steady under load, which is why the production rows recommend them.

Three complete monthly bills

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Dokploy cost per month?

The software is free when self-hosted. The server is the bill: $9.58 a month for the 2 vCPU, 4 GB Starter preset on MassiveGRID shared cores, $19.80 on dedicated cores, $19.16 or $39.60 for the 4 vCPU, 8 GB Growth preset. Dokploy Cloud, if you want the hosted dashboard, adds $4.50 per server per month.

Is there a Dokploy free trial?

Dokploy Cloud has a 7-day trial with no card at the time of writing. The self-hosted edition does not need one because it is free; a MassiveGRID server carries a 15-day money-back guarantee, so trying Dokploy on a real VPS is refundable too.

Does Dokploy charge per application or per user?

No. Self-hosted Dokploy has no per-app, per-domain or per-user fees, and Dokploy Cloud bills per connected server with unlimited deployments, databases and applications on each. Enterprise features such as SSO and audit logs are licensed separately and quoted by sales.
